King’s Coronation Street Party

Next dates

Sorry, there are no future dates available

Wood Street in Old Town will come alive on Sunday 7th May as the community comes together to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

Alongside the large street party, is Old Town’s first Sovereign trail, where someone will win a £500 King’s Sovereign coin from Deacons Jewellers.

The Friends of Old Town hold three big street events each year attracting thousands to the area.  In May last year, they held a Jubilee celebration for Queen Elizabeth II, and this year they will celebrate the King’s Coronation with a big street food market, featuring live local entertainment and drinks from Old Town favourites, The Tuppenny and Hop Kettle.

Organisers are expecting 6000 people over the afternoon as it’s set to be Swindon's main street event for the King’s Coronation. The event will take place from 12pm to 5pm and visitors will have the chance to try traditional British fare from the likes of The Kings Arms, as well as international cuisine from around the world.
